Casa do Corvo was created with a simple idea: that temporary places can still feel grounded, meaningful and human.

We are Suzy and Wybe, a Portuguese-Dutch couple with strong ties to Coimbra. Rather than opening another hotel or short-stay rental, we wanted to create something quieter and more lasting — a place where people can stay a little longer, live a little differently, and become part of the rhythm of the city.

 

The building itself played an important role in shaping this idea. We restored it with care, using reclaimed materials and preserving the atmosphere that drew us to it in the first place. We chose not to redesign it into something polished or uniform, but to keep its character — even where that means simplicity rather than luxury.

That choice reflects how Casa do Corvo is meant to be used. It is not a serviced space, and not a place where everything is organised for you. Instead, it offers a setting where people can organise their own time, their own work, and their own way of living.

For some, that sense of independence is exactly the point. For others, it may not be.
